Latest company case about How to make a silicone mold for artificial cultured stone?

In the current home decoration market, antique-style wall tiles and antique-style cultural stones are widely used, and the market demand is very large. Therefore, if mass production is required, silicone molds must be used for casting. So how do you make silicone molds and how do you use them to cast artificial cultural stones? Hongtu Silicone will give you a detailed introduction below:

Materials needed:
  • Molding silicone raw material (liquid)
  • Electronic scale
  • Mixing equipment
  • Container (small bucket)
  • Vacuum machine
  • Cultural stone hand mold
  • Release agent, etc.
Production process:
  1. Weigh a certain weight of cultural stone molding silicone using an electronic scale, add 1.5%-2% curing agent, and mix thoroughly with the mixing equipment. Turn on the vacuum machine and place the mold inside for 5-10 minutes until no air bubbles remain.
  2. Spray a layer of release agent evenly onto the cultural stone hand mold.
  3. Frame the cultural stone hand mold with wooden boards, with a distance of about 3-4 cm between the hand mold and the boards.
  4. Slowly pour the molding silicone into the wooden frame along a fixed pouring point, shaking occasionally to remove air.
  5. After approximately one hour, the silicone in the mold will be completely cured. Then, surround it with wooden strips, leaving a 4cm gap, and remove the original wooden strips.
  6. Mix 1000g of plaster powder with water and pour it into the wooden frame until full.
  7. After 20-30 minutes, the plaster will have cured. Remove the wooden strips; the cultured stone mold is now complete.

Industrial-grade mold silicone is typically used for brush molding processes on large products. The hardness is usually chosen to be 25-30 degrees. Silicone with this hardness is relatively thick, as it would flow during the brush molding process if it were too thin.
