Latest company case about Reasons for the whitening and lack of durability of silicone in cultured stone molds

Manufacturers of artificial cultured stone who have used liquid silicone for molds know that many cultured stone silicone molds on the market currently suffer from the problem of turning white and becoming less durable after a period of use. Even after changing suppliers several times, the problem persists. So, what can be done to solve this headache-inducing issue?

The root cause lies in the quality of the silicone raw materials used in cultured stone molds. Many manufacturers use ordinary raw materials to save costs. Liquid silicone for molds made from ordinary raw materials is only suitable for simple resin crafts, plaster moldings, and prototype casting. However, for special materials like cultured stone, hydrolyzed materials must be used. Otherwise, the commonly encountered problems of whitening, poor durability, and poor tear and stretch resistance will occur.

The data testing report shows that the mold silicone produced from hydrolyzed materials appears to be very similar to that produced from ordinary materials, but this difference becomes apparent after a period of use.
