Latest company case about What happens if the liquid silicone and hardener are not mixed evenly?

Liquid silicone comes in two types: single-component and two-component. Single-component liquid silicone cures directly without a hardener, but two-component silicone does not; regardless of the ratio, it always contains a hardener.

There are three ratios for two-component silicone: 1:1, 10:1, and 100:2. In the 1:1 ratio, the hardener is included in the silicone; simply mix A and B in a 1:1 ratio until thoroughly mixed. However, in the 10:1 and 100:2 ratios, the hardener is separate. What happens if the silicone and hardener are added in the correct ratio but not thoroughly mixed?  HANAST Silicone will analyze this below:

Situation 1: The silicone may partially cure while remaining partially uncured, resulting in a product that is tacky in some areas and fully cured in others.

Scenario 2: The surface is dry but the interior is not.

Scenario 3: There are transparent granules inside the silicone, and it cannot be completely cured (this happens when too much silicone is applied. Because the original silicone is very thick, it cannot be fully mixed and will not combine with the curing agent, resulting in silicone granules that cannot be cured). If any of the above situations occur, the silicone is considered unusable, and there is no way to salvage it.

Each time you stir silicone, the layer that adheres to the sides and bottom of the mixing container is easily missed and fails to cure. Therefore, to avoid this, be sure to stir thoroughly.
