Silicone gel for electronic potting is a two-component, addition-forming liquid silicone rubber based on silicone rubber. The fundamental difference lies in its form after curing: silicone gel remains soft, jelly-like (gel), while epoxy resin is very hard after curing, and polyurethane is somewhere in between (elastomer). This property enables silicone gel to better absorb stress.
