Product Description

Platinum-Cure (Addition) Liquid Silicone Rubber – Shore A 30

This is a two-component translucent addition-cure (platinum-catalysed) liquid silicone rubber. Components A (liquid silicone rubber) and B (platinum curing agent) are mixed in a 1:1 ratio by weight and can be cured at room temperature or by heating. The series offers eleven hardness grades from Shore A 0 (ultra-soft gel) to 60 (firm elastomer); this grade is Shore A 30, suitable for general crafts, resin and gypsum moulds, food-contact moulds and precision parts. The cured silicone is eco-friendly, non-toxic, odourless, non-corrosive, and certified with FDA, MSDS and RoHS. It features excellent physiological inertness, waterproofing, ozone and aging resistance, high tensile strength, toughness, temperature resistance from −50 °C to 200 °C, and extremely low shrinkage (≤ 0.1%) with no low-molecule release during crosslinking.

Key Features

  • 1:1 mix ratio (A:B by weight); 30–40 min pot life; room-temperature or heat cure
  • Shore A 30 hardness grade selected for general crafts, resin, gypsum and food-contact moulds
  • Food grade: FDA, MSDS, RoHS certified; non-toxic, odourless, non-corrosive
  • Low viscosity for easy mixing and bubble removal; good fluidity for pouring
  • Excellent physiological inertness; waterproof, ozone resistant, aging resistant
  • High tensile strength and toughness; temperature resistance −50 °C to 200 °C
  • No low-molecule release during cure; volume unchanged; shrinkage ≤ 0.1%; high precision
  • Viscosity and performance can be customised per customer requirements

Hardness Grade Selection (Shore A)

Grade Viscosity (mPa·s) Hardness (Shore A) Tensile (MPa) Tear (kN/m) Elongation (%)
Ultra-soft gel 2000±500 0 ± 2 3.5 6 450
Soft 3000–3500±500 5–15 ± 2 5.5–5.7 15–17 600–670
Medium 4000–4500±500 20–25 ± 2 6.0 21–24 520
Shore A 30 (this grade) 5000±500 30 ± 2 6.2 16 470
Firm 5500–6500±500 35–45 ± 2 6.0–6.5 14–15 430–470
Rigid elastomer 7000±500 50 ± 2 6.0 12 400

All grades share the same 1:1 mix ratio, 30–40 min pot life, and 3–4 h room-temperature cure. E605–E620 are recommended for food moulds and delicate crafts; E625–E640 for general crafts, resin and gypsum; E645–E650 for rigid moulds and high-wear applications.

Mixing & Application

Stir Components A and B thoroughly before use to ensure homogeneity. Accurately weigh A and B in a 1:1 ratio by weight using a precision scale. Mix thoroughly for 2–3 minutes until uniform, scraping the container walls and bottom. For bubble-free moulds, degas under vacuum to remove entrapped air. Pour into the clean, dry mould frame within the 30–40 min pot life and ensure full coverage. Allow to cure at room temperature for 3–4 h, or heat at 80–100 °C for ≤ 20 min, then demold after full cure.

Catalyst poisoning warning: this addition-cure (platinum) silicone may fail to cure in contact with organotin compounds, sulfur / polysulfide compounds, amines, polyurethane, phosphorus compounds, organic acids, and solder flux residues. Ensure all substrates, tools and containers are clean and free of these contaminants. Do not use with condensation-cure (tin-cure) silicone residues without thorough cleaning, and do not add colourants or fillers before testing.

Packaging & Storage

Component A: 10 / 20 / 25 kg iron or plastic drum; Component B: 10 / 20 / 25 kg iron or plastic drum; Kit (A+B): 20 / 40 / 50 kg per set. Store in original, tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area below 25 °C, protected from acid, alkali and impurities. Shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture when stored unopened and properly sealed. Transportation is classified as non-dangerous goods.
