Tin Cure Silicone Rubber (also known as condensation-cure silicone) is a two-component, room-temperature vulcanizing (RTV-2) silicone rubber that uses a tin-based catalyst to cure. It is the global industry standard for general mold making due to its high flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and ease of use.

  • Shrinkage Over Time: It shrinks slightly (typically 0.2% to 1%) during the curing process and continues to shrink very slowly over years.
  • Limited Lifespan: Tin cure molds degrade faster over time (usually within a few years) and will eventually become brittle.
