Low Outgassing Solvent Free Silicone Potting Compound HN-8806A/B
Hanast HN-8806A/B is a solvent free, two-component platinum addition-cure silicone potting compound that cures with no exotherm and no by-product release, which keeps sensitive optics, sensors and sealed cavities free of volatile contamination. The 1:1 mix ratio, 2000-3000 mPa·s flow and 18-24 min pot life suit both dual-pump dispensing lines and manual potting benches, while the cured elastomer delivers 0.76 W/m·K thermal conductivity, UL 94 V-0 flame retardancy, 1.0 * 10¹⁶ Ω·cm volume resistivity and elastic service from -50 °C to 250 °C.
Key Features
- Low outgassing, solvent free system — no solvent carrier and no by-products are released during cure, so sealed modules, optical parts and sensor cavities stay clean.
- No exotherm during cure — thick and deep sections cure without heat spikes that could stress bond wires, lenses or MEMS elements.
- Extremely low cure shrinkage — potted assemblies keep their dimensions; the 210 µm/(m·°C) coefficient of thermal expansion limits stress under thermal cycling.
- 1:1 mix ratio by weight — equal-part dosing for manual batching and dual-pump meter-mix equipment, 18-24 min pot life at 25 °C.
- 2000-3000 mPa·s viscosity — fills fine gaps and dense assemblies, and can be degassed under vacuum for void-free potting.
- 0.76 W/m·K thermal conductivity — transfers heat from power devices, sensors and coils into the housing.
- UL 94 V-0 flame retardancy and RoHS compliance — meets flammability and environmental requirements for EU and North American buyers.
- Electrical insulation 1.0 * 10¹⁶ Ω·cm and 25-30 kV/mm — dielectric strength for high-voltage spacing and dense circuitry.
- -50 °C to 250 °C, good ageing and moisture resistance — keeps elasticity through thermal cycling, humid-heat ageing, outdoor operation and winter transport.
- Custom colour and hardness, OEM private label — standard grade is grey 45 ± 5 Shore A; softer or firmer hardness and brand colours are produced on request.
- 6-month shelf life, non-dangerous goods transport — general chemical classification simplifies export and warehousing.

Mixing & Application Instructions
- Step 1 - Pre-mix: stir Component A and Component B separately before use, fillers may settle in storage; reseal containers tightly.
- Step 2 - Weighing: weigh A and B at exactly 1:1 by weight on a precision scale.
- Step 3 - Mixing: mix in one direction to limit air entrapment; scrape the container walls and bottom.
- Step 4 - Degassing: degas under vacuum where void-free potting or low outgassing performance matters.
- Step 5 - Potting: pour within the 18-24 min pot life and ensure complete coverage of the device.
- Step 6 - Curing: cure 2-3 h at 25 °C or 12 min at 80 °C; do not move or stress the part during cure.
Cure Inhibition Notice
This addition-cure silicone may not cure in contact with organotin or tin-containing silicones, sulfur and polysulfide compounds, amines, polyurethane rubber, ammonia-containing items, phosphorus compounds, organic acids and solder flux residues. Clean substrates and tools before potting, and do not mix with condensation-cure (acetoxy) silicone, epoxy or polyurethane.

FAQ
Q1: Does HN-8806AB release solvents or by-products while curing?
A: No. The system is solvent free and cures by platinum addition without exotherm and without by-product release, which is why it is used for sealed sensor, optical and medical modules where volatile contamination is a risk.
Q2: Can the hardness and colour be customized for our OEM project?
A: Yes. The standard grade is a grey 45 ± 5 Shore A elastomer; softer or firmer hardness, brand colour matching and private label packaging are produced on request, subject to evaluation and MOQ.
Q3: Is the compound suitable for downhole and subsea instruments?
A: It offers 1.0 * 10¹⁶ Ω·cm volume resistivity, 25-30 kV/mm dielectric strength, good ageing and moisture resistance, and a -50 °C to 250 °C service range, so it suits downhole telemetry, subsea connectors and marine instrument housings.
Q4: How is the compound processed on the line?
A: Mix 1:1 by weight, degas under vacuum if void-free potting is required, then pour within the 18-24 min pot life. Cure takes 2-3 h at 25 °C as a preliminary cure or 12 min at 80 °C for heat-accelerated lines.
Q5: What are the MOQ, packaging and lead time?
A: Standard packaging is 25 kg per component drum, 50 kg per A+B kit set; a 1 kg trial kit and free sample are available. Stock drums ship in 5-7 days, bulk orders in 10-15 days; OEM private label is available from our Shenzhen factory.
